Confirmations
Zecnero nodes refuse any reorganisation deeper than 20 blocks. A block buried by 20 or more blocks can’t be replaced by a competing chain, as far as a running node is concerned.
Recommendation
| Use | Confirmations | Approximate time |
|---|---|---|
| Crediting deposits | 20 | 25 minutes |
| Large deposits | 20, plus manual review | 25 minutes or more |
| Spending mined coinbase | 100 (consensus) | 2 hours 5 minutes |
Waiting 20 confirmations lines your credit point up with the reorg limit. Fewer than that leaves a window where a deeper chain could still replace the block.
Notes
- The reorg limit is a node rule. A node that was offline or isolated during an attack can still end up on a different chain. Monitor your node’s tip against the explorer and other nodes you control.
- The 20-block limit also means a long network split won’t heal on its own. Watch for your node stalling or diverging, and alert on it.
