Pools vs solo
Pool mining
Pool mining gives you small, regular payouts. The pool collects shares from many miners and splits each block’s reward between them.
The project pool:
| Website | pool.zecnero.org |
| Stratum | stratum.zecnero.org:3333 |
| Payout scheme | PPLNS |
| Difficulty | Vardiff (adjusts per miner) |
| Payout address | Transparent or Sapling |
| Fee | See the pool site for the current fee |
The pool shields its coinbase rewards before paying out. Payouts to a Sapling address stay shielded.
Third-party support
- rplant’s
cpuminer6.0.17 supportsrx/zecnero. - The Rplant pool may list Zecnero. Check their site.
Solo mining
Solo mining means running your own node and mining blocks straight to your own address. You keep the whole subsidy minus the founder output, but on a busy network you can go a long time without finding a block.
Solo mining needs:
- A synced
zecnerodnode. - A miner that talks to the node through
getblocktemplate.
Document the supported solo mining setup: whether xmrig-zecnero can mine directly against zecnerod (daemon mode), which RPC settings are needed in the node config, and how the miner address is set.
Which one to pick
- Pick a pool if you have one or a few machines and want steady payouts.
- Go solo if you have a lot of hashrate, already run a node, or want to test node and template behaviour.
Coinbase rewards mature after 100 blocks either way, so a found block can’t be spent for about two hours.
